Design Challenge:
Rebrand an international bookstore. Use a comprehensive design process including research, strategy, and organization to create a brand identity program. Design the primary identity and apply it to a variety of brand touch points across media.
Creative Solution:
I rebranded Cinema Odeon, a historic cinema and bookstore in Florence, Italy, where students and academics gather to read and work. Having visited the space firsthand, I identified opportunities to modernize its identity while preserving its historic charm. I designed a logo that merges book pages turning, a film reel spinning, and a shell—symbolizing wisdom and knowledge. Through iterative sketch explorations, I developed a cohesive identity system, including a refined logo, logotype, and signature. The final rebrand, Sogno Cinema (“dream” in Italian), captures the essence of the space while inviting a new generation of visitors.
