SAN DIEGO NEIGHBORHOOD

Design Challenge:
This experimental poster design must promote and motivate public interest in a San Diego Buzzy Neighborhood. Explore experimental approaches to poster design and layout to create emotional resonance, beautiful visual hierarchy, and a dynamic balanced layout.
Creative Solution:
Carmel Valley is a San Diego neighborhood that has a suburban feel yet contains many new and modern hubs for dining, entertainment, and activities. I built an image library using my own photography and then experimented with typography, color, and layering. I wanted to capture the life and spirit of this suburban area through documenting its very own residents at the local skate park. The dynamic layout draws curious viewers in to learn more and want to come visit.
Deliverables:
2—Posters, 22” x 34”
